The Earth Is Blue
by Eric Needle, co-founder, curator,
Blue Earth Society |
Greetings,
Bienvenue, and welcome to the Blue Earth Society's online
virtual gallery. The BES is an association of fine artists brought
together by a common desire to make and exhibit art that is positive.
In our rapidly escalating global climate dominated by war, politics
and the shadow of impending conflict, we've united to created
art that is about life.
Art creates a personal reaction to each work we see. It can bring
hope, it can light up a room. It is a language unto itself, crossing
boundaries of culture, language and nationality. With a media
focused on gloom and doom, daily crimes of violence, intent to
sell us the latest fad diet, workout machine and beauty product,
we see the role of fine art shifting. Art can renew us. It can
focus us on what's really important and ground us back to reality.
Life is universal. Our planet teems with it. Art can build hope
and celebrate life, celebrate humanity and it's diversity. Art
can motivate and recharge us for another day in the grind.
Explore the different areas of the site. The gallery
houses a group show, changing monthly. Artist
galleries contain shows and collections of work, some new, some
archived from past exhibits. Le Livre Overt
is the "Open Book". We record our thoughts, writings
and ramblings. It is open to you the reader, to contribute to.
The rest is self explanatory. Enjoy the art and contact us if
it moves you. Thank you again for visiting us. |

What Is Art?
by Michael Golub, co-founder, BES
|
"Painting to me is a very physical means of expression.
I get messy and dirty. I scrape and scrawl and struggle with the
canvas until a thing of beauty is produced, which stands on its
own and has its own life and meaning.
The smell, the texture, the intensity, of paint is like nothing
else. I like to climb inside the world of the canvas, the larger
the better. Insane." |

The Artistic Life
By John M. De Marco |
Each breaking dawn demands of us the tasks we must accomplish,
the problems we must solve, the relationships we must manage.
We need not proactively fill our calendars with many meetings,
appointments and errands—life will happily and often subconsciously
do so for us. Without intentionally seeking to stem this tyranny
of the urgent, the momentary demands of society can gradually
erode the remnants of what remains embedded with us: a child’s
right and desire to dream, to imagine, to soar. We can gradually
lose our appetite for the truth, settling instead for the cheap
imitation of what we take to be a fulfilling life because no one
else seems to be alarmed by its shallow waters.

Who built this site?
Giant3 and it's partners have been building the net since 1994.
We are artists ourselves and have been working with galleries
and artists to exhibit work for even longer. This site features
several innovative ways to show art, and we're just getting started.
To talk about custom sites,
contact Eric. This
is our passion, not just our business.
